NMN is a naturally occurring molecule in the human body that serves as a precursor to the coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). NAD+ plays a role in many vital biological processes, including metabolism, cell growth, and DNA reproduction. As people age, NAD+ production naturally declines, which can make it more difficult for the body to undertake these cellular processes effectively. NMN supplements purport to address this issue, giving the body the necessary tools required to synthesize more NAD+ for increased energy production.
